A medieval liturgical manuscript with leather and brass bindings. Contains text and music of the Divine Office, including psalms, canticles, antiphons, responsories, hymns, versicles, lessons and prayers. Illustrations include illuminations of Biblical scenes, historiated and pen-foliated initials and full-length representations of thirty-four nuns who lived in the Abbey of Salzinnes, together with their names in regional script.

On March 21, 1098, the Benedictine abbot Robert of Molesme led twenty-one of his monks to Citeaux, near Dijon, to establish a new monastery where they hoped to follow Benedict of Nursia's rule for monasteries in all its fullness.
